the contest.Her determined, pale blue gaze met his wavering, twitchy emerald oculars without hesitation. A duel had begun. Eyes locked in complete, and total concentration. Each knew what they had come to accomplish.. triumph. They knew nothing but the eyes of the other. The world stopped, and they were in the spotlight. Tension slowly built as both fought to keep up the guise that they were undefeatable.   
Her gaze did not falter. His eyes seemed to flicker without the lids touching, as if to taunt her. He tantalized the rapidly drying surfaces of her snowy-white lenses, watching his own movements echoed in the reflection.

pete the flying ninja squirrelThere once was a flying ninja squirrel. His name was Pete. He was special. Pete liked shiny things. One day while exploring the park, something caught Pete's eye. It was.. amazing, awesome, great, fantastic, and spectacular, but what exactly WAS it? It was a periwinkle blue hollow semicircle.   
Pete put it on his head and decided that it would be a hat. After running about for several minutes showing off his new fashion statement, he grew bored with it. He removed it from his head and began to think.

sunrise.The dawn was strained. The sunlight beamed weakly through the thick clouds that hovered above the earth. Slightly dazed, she put down her pen, which had been scrawling energetically across the spiral pad of crinkled paper most of the night. She left the sketchbook teetering on the sand, that if anyone had seen and not known, surely would have thought to be snow. She sighed, taking in a lung full of the ocean's mist. It really was beautiful, she thought, watching the pinks, oranges, and yellows of the newly rising sun blend effortlessly with the blues, greens, and greys of the Atlantic; as though the water represented both the reflection and c sunrise.

Well, at least you know the pain I go through with my roaches. They all show up dead in my house... T.T
At least the live ones are rare, and quite the challenge, too.
